Learning how to hypnotize someone is easy. Why? Because hypnosis is both a skill AND an art, thus making it possible for anyone to learn it. There are techniques that you will soon master and in this post I will break things down to their simplest level.
The interesting thing is that hypnosis has a structure and a very simple one at that. So here is the structure:
2. Deepener (intensification of state)
3. Change Work
4. Exduction (Sometimes called wake-up)
Yes, it is that simple.
So let’s look at the individual components of this structure.
This is the part that many people get stuck on. Perhaps it is the false belief that not all people can be hypnotized that stops them (There are many mistruths about this and I cover it in another post). In reality GETTING HYPNOSIS is simple, really simple. If you’ve read the article “what is hypnosis” then you will know that hypnosis is actually focus. We focus the reality of the individual so that they go into a hypnotic state. This can be done in many ways and we will talk about that later.
Whilst there is no actual depth (it’s actually intensification of the state) we still call it depth for some reason. Once in the state of hypnosis we use a variety of techniques to intensify and further focus the individual.
I’ve used the word change work in a hypnotherapy sense where the person has some positive changes made, e.g. Weight Loss and Smoking. It can however be the part in stage hypnosis where the person is made to do crazy things (utilizing what we call hypnotic phenomena)
I really like this word and use it in place of the word wakeup. As the person is not asleep the word wake up is not really applicable. In this part of the process we bring the person gently out of the state of hypnosis.
Now of course the above steps are simplified version of what happens. Of course there is more detail and in the following video, I take you through a live hypnosis session. Then I will break things down even further so you understand exactly what is going on. There is also a transcript for you to use in your practise hypnosis sessions.
